A propos / Contact : Pierre ALLAIN photographe nature de Bretagne. Photographe de paysages sauvages, la flore et la faune

My name is Pierre ALLAIN, I am a native of Côtes d’Armor in Brittany. I grew up surrounded by Breton tales and legends, surrounded by meadows and a forest valley. I have always enjoyed creative hobbies such as music, drawing and painting.

It was after the COVID period, to give meaning to my walks in nature, that I bought my first Nikon camera.

I started by photographing trees, landscapes and birds near my home (in the Gulf of Morbihan). I joined a photography club where I learned how to analyze an image and the technical basics. It was when I looked for the first time through a macro lens that a miniature world was revealed before me.

I will take my professional photographer author status in October 2024, focusing on wild landscape photography, animal photography and macrophotography/proxyphotography.

I seek to create atmospheres, moods around my subjects. My goal is to simplify the composition to direct the eye where I want, through light, textures or color contrasts. I increasingly find myself putting my creations on paper before going out to shoot.

I am looking for a pictorial aspect that I obtain mainly on diluted backgrounds that are close to watercolorist washes. Comic strip colorists are a great source of inspiration.

I have also always been attracted to fantasy and science fiction films and series. I like working with shutter speed, it allows to have effects that are impossible to see with the naked eye and often approach the fantastic (see the movement of the waves in my series “Armor“).

The lights I prefer are those of the sun that we encounter at sunrise and sunset. They allow me to obtain magical colors but I sometimes use artificial lights, especially in macrophotography.
